Streetscape 2017
Summit assisted the City of Inman with the funding acquisition, design, permitting, bidding, and construction administration for the replacement/construction of sidewalk, curb and gutter, pavement, and traffic calming devices in the downtown area.
Project Purpose:
Summit successfully assisted the City of Inman in acquiring 2 grants (from Appalachian Regional Council and Community development Block Grant) totaling $1.0M for the beautification and improvement of S. Main Street and multiple intersections in Inman’s downtown area. The project also addressed cross-sectional grade issues along S. Main Street.
Project Description:
Work associated with this project consisted of:
- Installation of 3500 LF of new sidewalk (stamped concrete)
- Demolition and reconstruction of 700 LF of road to address grade issues
- Installation of traffic calming devices
- New sitting areas for pedestrians
- New light fixtures
The project was completed in the summer of 2018 with a final construction cost of approximately $1.1M
