The City of Brevard will receive bids for the construction of the “Main Street Sanitary Sewer System Improvements” project until 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the City of Brevard, City Hall located at 95 W. Main Street, Brevard, NC 28712, at which time and place all bids will be opened and read aloud in public.

The Contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder producing the lowest total bid.

The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to all work tasks associated with the Main Street Infrastructure Improvements, generally consisting of:

• Approximately 1,280 linear feet of CIPP lining (8” & 6”)
• Lining of approximately 200 linear feet of sewer service line
• The rehabilitation (lining) of 5 existing manholes and manhole repairs
• Main Line and Service Line Point Repairs, as required.
• Installation of 2 new manholes.
• Associated Pavement, Sidewalk, and concrete curb and gutter repair.
• Installation and removal of erosion control facilities.

Copies of the contract drawings, specifications, and bid documents may be obtained at the office of the Engineer upon receipt of a non-refundable payment of $100.00 for each hard copy set, and PDF sets will be sent at no charge. Only those contract drawings, specifications and bid documents obtained from the Engineer are official. Bidders cannot rely on the accuracy of copies of the aforementioned documents, drawings, specifications, etc. obtained from any other source. Bidders must be on the Engineer’s official plan holders list for bids to be accepted by the Owner.

Bidders must deposit security with all bids. Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Owner and shall be for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Provisions of the security shall be as described in the Information for Bidders.

Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price, will be required of the successful bidder.

No bid will be considered unless the bidder is legally qualified, on the date of the bid, under the provisions of the North Carolina Board of General Contractors. Contractors shall have a classification of PU, Unlimited.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of bids.
This project is a re-bid from a previous bid on November 3, 2022. This project’s scope has been reduced from the previous bid to the sanitary sewer portion only.
