The Town of Tryon will receive bids for the construction of the “Jervey Road Sewer Replacement” project until 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Town of Tryon, Town Hall located at 301 North Trade Street, Tryon, NC 28782, at which time and place all bids will be opened and read aloud in public.

The Contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder producing the lowest total base bid.

The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for all work tasks associated with the Jervey Road Sewer Replacement, generally consisting of:

• Installation of approximately 260 LF of 10” PVC SDR 35 sanitary sewer mains
• Installation of approximately 270 LF of 10” DIP sanitary sewer mains
• Installation/repair of five manholes
• The installation, maintenance, and removal of erosion control facilities
• Other associated appurtenances for a complete and proper installation

Bidding Documents are available on compact thumb drives as portable document format (PDF) files for a non-refundable charge of $75.00, including shipping. Alternatively, printed Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office either via in-person pick-up or via mail, upon Issuing Office’s receipt of payment for the Bidding Documents. The non-refundable cost of printed Bidding Documents is $100.00 per set, payable to “Summit Engineering Group, Inc.”. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the prospective Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
When requesting copies of the contract drawings, specifications and bid documents, provide the following information about your company: Mailing address, street / delivery address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and email address.

Only those contract drawings, specifications and bid documents obtained from the Engineer are official. Bidders cannot rely on the accuracy of copies of the aforementioned documents, drawings, specifications, etc. obtained from any other source. Bidders must be on the Engineer’s official plan holders list for bids to be accepted by the Owner.

Bidders must deposit security with all bids. Security shall be in the form of a certified check or bid bond made payable to the Owner, and shall be for an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Provisions of the security shall be as described in the Information for Bidders.

Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful bidder.

Any prospective bidder, contractor or subcontractor who is aggrieved in connection with the solicitation of this contract may protest to the Engineer (or) the Owner in accordance with Section 11-35-4210 of the SC Code of Laws, within 15 days of the date of issuance of the Notice of Intent to Award.

No bid will be considered unless the bidder is legally qualified, on the date of the bid, under the provisions of the North Carolina Board of General Contractors. Contractors shall have a classification of PU, Unlimited.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informality in the bidding. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days from the date of the opening of bids.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Town of Tryon, Town Hall located at 301 North Trade Street, Tryon, NC 28782. Perspective bidders are encouraged to attend; however, attendance is not mandatory.
